New Years Resolutions NOT to make
|
This year, don’t add this one to your list:
Why? Well, has it gotten done other times you’ve put it on your list? If not it may be because its too big, too daunting and not specific enough to allow you to really take action on it. I recommend that you say something like this to yourself: “tackle the pile of papers on the kitchen counter” “go through one drawer in the file cabinet and purge unnecessary papers” “get to the bottom of my desk” In addition, I recommend that you also add:
Finally, add a goal or reward to your resolution: “so that, I can regain my kitchen counter space” “so that, I can find what I’m looking for” “so that, I can actually work in my office at my desk”. When you set a resolution that is too big or too broad, it very rarely ever gets done. By breaking it down into smaller specific steps to take, you set yourself up for success. Once you get started and you can actually see some progress being made, it is usually pretty motivating and you may want to keep going. Call us, here at Let’s Get Organized! if you are ready to get started and you need someone to help you get over that initial hump or you don’t want to spend your valuable time. We’ll help you get it done in half the time! brenda@letsgetorganized.org, 612.385.6916, www.letsgetorganized.org |
