Helpful tips for making better use of your time

 

Waking up 1/2 hour earlier/ going to bed 1/2 hour after everyone else to get productive time

Utilizing a household calendar to keep track of everyone’s activities

Utilizing a single To Do List (not multiples)

Designating a “Time Box” for certain chores like cleaning off the kitchen counter, sorting mail, paying bills, 

Using a timer to time box chores, e.g.  “I need to clean up my inbox but I only have 30 minutes right now”

Designating times for family, hobby or chore times

Pick out your clothes and accessories for the work week on the weekend, try them on if you need to make sure they will be comfortable and don’t need any mending on the weekend instead of in the mornings when you are rushed  

Plan lunches and dinners for the entire week and shop for and prepare them on the weekend  

If you work from home, close the door and train your family that you are working when the door is closed and they should only knock if its an emergency

Keep track of your time for a couple days, write down each hour in a notebook and track what you get done in each hour, this is really helpful in figuring out where the time goes and how to make better use of your time
