Let's Get Organized

FAQs

Why should I hire a professional organizer?

You should hire a professional organizer if you have been telling yourself "I really need to get the garage, basement, ________, organized and its just not getting done.  Hiring a professional organizer will:

  • ensure that it gets done
  • make the job easier
  •  get it done in half the time
  • provide you with expert advice and great storage solutions
  • help with the things you no longer want or need.

What is a professional organizer?

A professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. A professional organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits.  As a professional organizer, my greatest joy is helping my clients simplify their lives.  My favorite moment in every organizing project when my client exclaims "I've been looking for this!".  It happens every time and I love it.  I love it when my client is so happy and relieved that the project they've been dreading is done and they love their new space.

How much does it cost?

That depends on the size of your project and what solutions will need to be purchased.  We always try to reuse things that you already have vs. having to buy new baskets, bins or other storage solutions.  We offer the following packages:

Organizing Package A - this package is the best value for you if you have just one room or space that you want to get organized.  Working together, we can get a lot done in 4 hours.    Storage solutions and supplies such as shelves, bins, hooks, etc. are extra and not included in this package price.

Organizing Package B - this package iis the best value for you if you have more than 2 rooms in your home or your garage or basement needs organizing.  8 hours is usually enough to get an entire room done.  Storage solutions and supplies such as shelves, bins, hooks, etc. are extra and not included in this package price.

Assessment Only - if you feel like you need a plan and a little motivation to get started, but you can complete the project on your own then this may be the way to go for you.   We will come to your home or business, talk with you about your challenges and what your goal is.  We then create an action plan with recommendations that you can follow on your own.  An assessment with action plan is $100.

Moving Package - this package is the best value for you if you are preparing to sell your home and need help with staging, organizing and packing.   Prices for this package are based on the amount of packing and number of rooms.  An estimate will be provided based on an initial assessment.

Estate Clearance package - this package is for you if you have a lot of items that you would like to find new homes for or if you need to clear the home of a loved one.  We go beyond just the estate sale (we are experts at maximizing the amount of money you can clear at an estate sale).  We   will help you after the sale too with suggestions for consignment stores, antique stores, vintage stores where you can take items to sell.  We can discuss disposition strategy based on your items.  Options include holding a yard or garage sale, selling your items on Craigs list or eBay, consigning your items, donating, etc.   Prices depend upon your individual situation.

How long will it take?

That depends on the size of your project, what solutions are needed and how involved you want to be.  In general, it is faster when we are working side by side to formulate the action plan, make keep/dispose decisions and make progress on the project.

Do you have a specialty?

Yes!  We love to work with people who have hobbies and crafters like scrapbookers, quilters, card makers, artists, wood workers, etc.  We have years of experience and know how to get all that "stuff" that you need for your hobby organized where you can see it, find it and use it!  We can help you get all of your photos organized so that you can enjoy them, whether they are digital or paper - we can set up systems for you to get them and keep them organized and accessible.
